About The Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, supporting tax and compliance processes, and ensuring accurate day-to-day accounting operations.
This role is ideal for someone with strong numerical skills, good knowledge of accounting principles, and experience working with financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Assist with VAT returns, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
- Support payroll processing where required.
- Monitor budgets, expenses, and cash flow.
- Work with external auditors, accountants, or tax advisors when needed.
- Ensure all financial data is accurate, up to date, and properly documented.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Good understanding of UK accounting standards and tax processes.
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or similar qualification is preferred but not essential.
